Q and A with the Founder:

What inspired you to start a cloth diaper company?

I started Swaddlebees mostly out of a desire to try something new and a necessity to make a living. I didn't really have a clear vision of where I wanted to take the company or what noble cause it would serve. At the time I started the company, we still had a restaurant and our first child has just been born. Because I can no longer work at the restaurant as much as I used to, I figured that if I can sell a couple hundred diapers a month, then I can justify staying home to raise our baby.

What makes your company unique in the cloth diaper industry?

There are several things that make us unique:

1. 95% of the products we carry are made in the US.
2. Most of the fabrics we use are made in the US as well. The only fabrics that are imported are mostly used to make accessory items. But the fabrics that touches the baby's skin are all made in the US to ensure quality, consistency and safety for the baby. We don't use the cheapest fabric there is, we use the best quality we can find.
3. Our diapers are very anatomically-correct, and have one of the best fits in the industry.
4. We only use latex-free elastics, also made in the US.
