Pedoodles Toddler Shoes:
Next Steps Collection Review

Pedoodles is another option for parents seeking soft sole shoes for their babies and toddlers. We had the opportunity to sample (via the company) their Next Steps Collection. This fun, collection of rubber sole shoes is perfect for babies who are walking and running all over the place.

We chose the Petal Jumpers because they are part of the company's new ECO-Friendly offering. I was more partial to another pair, but I couldn't resist the promise of recycled rubber soles and leathers that are tested to be free from Lead, Mercury, Barium, Antimony, Arsenic, Cadmium, Selenium and harmful Amines. Besides the powder blue color is unique and will bring out different tones in my daughter's wardrobe this spring.

Likes:

• As Pedoodles promises, the sole is soft and flexible. They are comfortable enough to wear indoors all day and durable enough for outdoors.
• I really like the leather-on-leather stitching. It adds artistry in funky and fashionable way. This in the bright fun colors are sure to stand out in a crowd.
• The leather itself is also nice and soft, making them easy to slip on and off. The velcro closure helps with that too.
• The packaging is entirely recyclable.
• I'm especially glad about the safety testing the soles and the leather undergo to ensure the shoes don't contain toxic substances. I hope its a teething phase - but when she's not wearing her shoes, I find my daughter in hiding places chewing on the velcro straps.

Dislikes:

• This is both a pro and con. The shoes are made with a box toe to give the feet extra wiggle room around the feet. However, my daughter's feet are really narrow so we have quite a bit of extra room initially. To make up for it, we pull the velcro strap over as far as we can. The benefit is we will likely get to wear them for many months.
• This isn't exactly a dislike either, but the rubber sole is slightly wider than the shoe therefore we like these shoes for everyday wear verses formal wear (which doesn't occur very often with us).

If you're looking for a pair of fun and funky shoes to round out your baby's shoe wardrobe, Pedoodles are a wonderful addition. These shoes are strikingly different and constantly growing on me.

In fact I took a break while writing this review to get my daughter dressed and I like them even more now. From their eco-conscious materials and packaging to their comfy construction, Pedoodles are kid-friendly from the inside out and I highly recommend giving them a try.

I also have another fun recommendation. If you need something for your little one to draw on (besides your floors and walls) print off some of the free coloring book pages on the site. The pages feature the fun animal characters found on the baby shoes and apparel.
