Review of Miessence Toothpaste

I'm on the quest for organic toothpaste the entire family can use. Here's a rundown of the mint flavored Miessence organic toothpaste.

Ingredients

certified organic aloe vera leaf juice, xanthan gum, sodium bicarbonate, sea salt, certified organic cinnamon leaf essential oil, certified organic clove bud essential oil, certified organic peppermint oil, certified organic spearmint essential oil, stevia rebaudiana extract

Features to Love

• Leaves teeth clean and mouth feeling fresh.
  
  
• Doesn't have a strong, synthetic mint effect after brushing - can be a negative for some people.
  
  My husband would like a little more flavor than the baking soda base, so we will try the lemon or anise flavor next time.
  
  
• Doesn't contain fluoride, aluminium, artificial sweeteners or detergents.

Room for Improvement

All of the ingredients are not organic therefore the product is not 100% organic. My assumption is that the other ingredients are available naturally but not organic.

Bottom Line

The toothpaste gets my teeth clean without chemical ingredients that are unfamiliar to me. I like the texture and color of the formula. I would prefer this over conventional toothpastes for my family and toddler, however, the price takes some getting used to.

I tried the travel size and did get a good amount out of the tube (my husband and I brushed with it throughout July). For some reason the bigger tube costs slightly more per ounce, but the savings you get in shipping, makes the larger tube of Miessence toothpaste a much better value.
