Though my children were a little bit older when we discovered Maddy's Organic Meals at the Southport Farmers Market last summer, my then 3-year old went crazy for the sample of lentils, so we bought some and served them as a side dish.

The owner, Dori, was so engaging, showing a real passion for her product and spending time with each visitor to her booth with a smile on her face (even though it was a sticky hot day!). Her dedication to producing a quality product that is really good for children is obvious.

We have since recommended Maddy's to friends and even purchased more lentils ourselves -- both because our kids genuinely enjoy them and to support this local, organic business. I just wish Dori was making baby food when mine were littler!
