Organic Baby Shopping Guides Are Here

Hello to all of our new and loyal subscribers!

It's been a while since we had some news to share. We took this summer to fix Bella's (now 7 months) sleeping schedule - yeah right. But we did manage to make strides in building the Organic Baby Shopping Guide section of the website!

Thus far it contains more than 75 products that we researched and tested for quality and effectiveness. The guide was designed to help you find some of the best non-toxic and organic products no matter which phase of life you and baby are dealing with, be it pregnancy, nursing, baby wearing, teething, getting dressed, feeding or bathing.

We also hope to develop more seasonal guides to help you find organic gifts and special occasion wear during those sometimes hectic holidays.

Eco Back To School Finds

Do you have a pre-schooler getting ready for daycare or a new school? If so you are probably shopping for some eco-friendly school clothing, lunch boxes and other supplies.

I've done some browsing online and found a few hard to resist items at one of our shopping partners, BabyEarth:

  • Toting pre-school papers and show and tell items back and forth will be extra fun with these colorful animal backpacks from Skip Hop Zoo (pictured right). Each character is BPA-Free, Phthalate-free, PVC Free. If color isn't your thing, then check out the ultra neutral organic cotton puppy backpack by EcoGear.
  • If you're packing a lunch, consider packing it Bento style with lots of fruits and veggies. The reusable containers and lunch ideas book help to add convenience and inspiration.
  • Is nap time a part of your child's school day? If so, you may searching for an extra cool nap mat, like this one made from Velboa fabric by Stephen Joseph. For those who desire more natural materials check out SewnNatural's organic cotton and hemp napmats on Etsy.
  • Finally, short of a healthy diet and consistent vitamin intake, the only other thing you can do to minimize colds during school time is to keep those little hands clean. BabyGanics makes a line of hand sanitizers and hand washes that you can have ready the minute they come to greet you at the end of the day.
I hope this helps you get ready for your little one's school days with little or no stress.

Oh and one other thing that will enhance your readiness for school even more than these cool finds ... pull out and charge up your camera the night before school. Capturing their faces is important because they grow so very fast.
