This is just a quick update for those of you who are familiar with Hipp Baby Food Products from other countries. Many of you have written asking where to find them in the US.

Glass Mugs - A Green Baby Shower Idea!

I recently attended a friend's baby shower. One of the highlights of the backyard-barbecue-themed-menu were peach Arnold Palmers (served with or without alcohol) in these glass mugs.

The 'R' on the mug is for the first initial of the baby-to-be. Both the straw and the tag were made from eco-friendly materials. I was also delighted when I learned the mug doubled as a favor for each of the guests to take home. I'm sure people will use them again and again.

I found a couple of examples of the mugs online. The first is an engraved Old Fashioned Drink Jar favor from Beau-coup.com. Gorgeous!

Happy Valentines Day

From our home to yours. We are keeping things simple yet festive this year. Below is a picture of our mantel I decorated to celebrate the love in our lives.

I was inspired by this article from Better Home and Gardens.

I love the idea of gathering overlooked or under-utilized items such as greeting cards, vases and frames from around the home to make the atmosphere more festive.

Prior to this I'd thought of decor as something you set and forget. However, I am going to make an effort to change things up for more special occasions like Easter, the start of spring, Independence Day etc.

We also made some fun shirts after seeing an article in our Disney Family Fun magazine. My four year old is modeling hers (below). Silly me waited until after her Valentine's Day party at school to take the picture. We took an old shirt, fabric paint and a heart shaped doily to jazz the shirt up a bit. To cover up a mistake I added a little bling and stenciled her name on.

I'd love to hear about the things you do to make your home more festive for your family during special days like today. I could use more ideas and I'm sure other moms would love to see them featured here too.
